Hattie As a family we can’t put into words the gratitude we feel for being granted a Daisy Garland SATs monitor. Harriet (Hattie) began having absence seizures in 2017 (age 3) and just before her 9th birthday in 2022 she had her first tonic clonic seizure. Unfortunately, she has continued to have many tonic and tonic clonic seizures since then. Hattie is now classed as drug resistant and she began the Keto diet in April this year, under the guidance of the dieticians at RMCH, to try to gain some control over her seizures. During her most recent nocturnal seizures Hattie remained completely still and it was only her breathing that changed, becoming slow and shallow. The monitor will provide us with reassurance that if Hattie is having a seizure that it won’t go unnoticed and will hopefully help us to sleep a little more soundly. Hattie loves sport and we have found that it is a great way to ensure that she stays positive when the complications of epilepsy get her down. Many thanks x Manage Cookie Preferences
